The making of a cohort sweatshirt
Each cohort sweatshirt begins with a conversation. For the October 2026 gathering, Sandry Law — Head of Procurement for the THETEA constellation — worked with our garment partners to source a weighty brushed cotton that could stand up to daily wear and still feel luxe. The design was refined over early-autumn tea sessions in Kunming: the crew debated between a subtle monogram or a loud logo, deciding instead on a delicate dancong sprig — because this cohort was all about Mí Lán Xiāng and the quiet craft of Phoenix Mountain oolong. The sprig is embroidered on the left cuff, a hidden detail that only another tea person would notice. It’s a nod to the slow, considered approach that unites tea practitioners and makers. Production was kept small, each piece numbered. Sandry’s team inspected every batch to ensure the brushed interior was even, the seams aligned, and the embroidery perfectly placed. This sweatshirt carries the weight of shared afternoons and the warmth of a freshly poured gongfu session.
