2025年暮春，Michael Zhan 花了整整一週，在昆明近郊一個小型紡織區的狹窄巷弄中穿梭。他要找的不是茶，而是用來包裹茶的布。這裡的小作坊世代印製著保護雲南最珍貴普洱茶餅的包裝紙 — 而 Michael 要找的，是仍在使用鐵基墨水、並印在未漂白亞麻布上的匠人，這樣的搭配會與茶葉本身一起隨著時間慢慢陳化。結果，他在一間家族經營的木版印花工作坊找到了一台可追溯至1920年代的單台鐵製印壓機。這位第三代匠人師傅，在工作坊旁種了一座小小的單叢茶樹花園；我們布面上的枝葉圖案，正是從其中一棵茶樹上素描而來。Michael 與師傅共同調整設計，使其能夠運用於餅茶與沱茶兩種包裹布，確保28公分的布料足以包覆較小、較厚實的沱茶，而不致多餘太多布料。每一塊布都是在常溫下用含鐵染料印製，乾燥後氧化成深炭灰色，再經一次水洗固色。最終的作品不僅是一件裝飾品 — 它成為茶葉自身故事的一部分，隨著每次使用而變得更深、更柔軟，恰如它包裹的茶葉。

The drape is pliant enough to fold tidily around a 100g or 250g cake, yet firm enough to hold a simple twine tie. The 28cm diagonal gives generous overlap without bulk.

The cloth’s heft is modest but certain in the hand — the iron‑ink design endures through countless wrappings, acquiring a softer patina over time.
